Based in Napier, Design Cuisine has been catering throughout Hawke’s Bay for over 22 years. It’s a small, family-run business led by chef and owner Andrew Poppelwell, who has been cooking professionally for more than 30 years — including Michelin-starred restaurants in the UK, luxury resorts and large-scale event catering.
After working overseas, Andrew returned to Hawke’s Bay with his family to build a business around great food, local produce and genuine hospitality. Many of the team have been with Design Cuisine for over 20 years, and Andrew’s daughter is now the kitchen manager — continuing the family connection. At the heart of it all is a simple love of food, people, and creating events that guests remember.
