We produce a culinary experience that both tantalises the eye and delights the tastebuds. Whether your event is for 25 or more than 250, Design Cuisine specialises in catering to your special needs.

The food on our catering menus are fresh and sourced locally for every event. Plates and platters dressed by Andrew and his team always rise to the occasion. You’ll experience fine dining meant to match your special event. Andrew holds a strong belief in supporting our local growers and you’ll often find him at the farmer’s market on the weekend talking food and planning his next masterpiece. Andrew and his team also believe that because someone has special dietary needs, that doesn’t mean skimping on flavour. Be sure to mention any requirements when you call.

We know that every event has special requirements. A licensed bartender, serving staff, tableware, tables, and chairs. Whatever the need is Design Cuisine is ready to assist. We can bring it all. That said, Andrew believes in environmental sustainability and uses recyclable materials whenever possible.

Andrew & Team

Design Cuisine is owned and operated by Andrew Poppelwell, renowned in Hawke’s Bay for his skillful eye and attention to detail when it comes to producing great meals. Andrew and Design Cuisine have been serving the community for over 30 years. He brings his local and international chefs experience including working for the Michellin rated Gravetye Manor in England, The Millbrook resort in Queenstown, and the Michael Fowler Centre and In-house catering in Wellington to every event. Andrew personally handpicked his team of culinary and serving staff so that you get the best team for your occassion.
